Last updated: February 11, 2026
Welcome to StuVe. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the StuVe platform at stuve.app (the "Service"), operated by StuVe ("we", "our", or "us"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Eligibility

2. Account Registration
- You must provide accurate, complete, and current registration information.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and for all activity that occurs under your account.
- You must notify us immediately at support@stuve.app of any unauthorised access or security breach.
- Each person may maintain only one individual account. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent restrictions is prohibited.
3. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Post content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, abusive, or discriminatory.
- Infringe upon the intellectual property rights of others.
- Upload malware, viruses, or any code designed to harm systems or users.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other users' accounts or any system components.
- Scrape, harvest, or otherwise collect data from the platform without authorisation.
- Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation.
- Engage in any conduct that interferes with the proper functioning of the Service.
4. Content and Intellectual Property
4.1 Your Content
You retain ownership of the content you create and upload to StuVe ("User Content"). By posting User Content, you grant StuVe a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, display, and distribute your content solely as necessary to operate the Service. This licence terminates when you delete your content or account.
4.2 Academic Integrity
You are solely responsible for ensuring that all research content you post complies with your institution's academic integrity policies, applicable copyright law, and any data sharing agreements that govern your research data.
4.3 StuVe's Intellectual Property
All platform code, design, trademarks, and other materials provided by StuVe remain our exclusive property. Nothing in these Terms transfers any StuVe intellectual property rights to you.
5. Collaboration and Projects
When you invite collaborators to a project, you represent that you have the authority to grant them the access level you assign. Project owners are responsible for managing membership and ensuring collaborators comply with these Terms. StuVe's governance system enforces role-based access controls, but you remain responsible for your project's content.
6. Privacy
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
7. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or the Service. You may delete your account at any time through your account settings.
8. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. StuVe is not responsible for the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any User Content.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, StuVe and its affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, loss of profits, or loss of research output, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may modify these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page. Continued use of the Service after the effective date of changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in the jurisdiction where StuVe is incorporated.
